Dizzee Rascal's princely pal

Dizzee Rascal identified with Prince Harry.
The 'Dance Wiv Me' rapper - who met the British royal backstage at this years O2 Wireless festival in London - said that out of all of the celebrities he'd met, Harry, 25, was the friendliest.
When asked who his favourite famous person is, Dizzy replied: "It has to be Prince Harry. Tom Hanks is a real down-to-earth guy and we chatted about Snoop Dogg, because his son is a fan. But Prince Harry - that is proper royalty, man!
"We just had a bit of banter and that. It was mad. He was... a bit like me, really."
He also admitted the prince had a clumsy "street handshake."
Meanwhile, the 24 year old rapper real name Dylan Mills also hopes his current album 'Tongue N' Cheek' will cheer up people who are depressed due to the current economic climate.
He explained: "It's a party album because there is a f**king recession on; people are down and they need lifting up. I have always liked pop music and R and B.
"One defining moment was when I went back to 'Doggystyle' by Snoop Dogg, which I loved back in the day. I played it over and over and it hit me: You can have a party to this album! I wanted to make a record that functioned in the same way."

Dizzee Rascal: 'Getting stabbed was partly my fault'

Dizzee Rascal has said he was partially responsible for his near fatal stabbing six years ago.

The east London rapper was left hospitalised with six stab wounds after a group of four men began hounding him in Ayia Napa, Cyprus, in 2003.

"It was all in slow motion. It was partly my fault. I got off my bike, doing the bravery thing when I should have just sped off, but I don't like to walk away," Dizzee told The Daily Star. "I don't like to be picked on. Growing up where I did you learn to fight."

Dizzee Rascal added that he has only just begun to move on from the incident."Getting stabbed, it's not glamorous," he declared. "It was a bad time. I had internal bleeding in my chest so I was coughing up blood all the time, I was on a drip that was getting on my nerves."I didn't want to make a meal of getting stabbed. And 50 Cent had already done it. I didn't want to compete with getting shot nine times," he said.

Rock City, Dizzee Rascal

The underground grime scenefor the leading light, to darling of the broadsheet critics, to fully fledged mainstream pop star, Dizzee Rascal has come a long way in the last seven years.
As with fellow traveller Tinchy Stryder, his new conference is young, eager, pop-savvy, and up for having the best time possible.
The girls at the front of the balcony lapped up his bad boy act (without ever taking it too seriously), while the boys at the back of the main floor nodded their hold of his quickfire lyrical flow.
All of them knew their stuff, chanting whole verses back at their beaming hero, his sidekick and rhyming partner Scope, and Semtex, their man mountain of a DJ.
Saving his most pop orientated tunes for the end of the set, Dizzee launched straight into his performance at full tilt: spitting out the rhymes at top speed, with barely any let up for the first twenty minutes. It could have felt oppressive but the MC carried his crowd with controlled assurance, keeping right on his marks and never dropping a syllable for even a split second.

The tempo dropped briefly, for the nearest we were going to get to a slow jam, before Dizzee picked up the pace once again, with a special shout-out out to his female fans. ("This one's for all you sexy girls. DROP THAT S***!")
As the set built to its climax, Old Skool recycled the Lyn Collins "woo-yeah" breakbeat that so dominated hip-hop in the late eighties, while new single Dirtee Cash revived Stevie V's dance anthem from 1990.
Finally, we got to the three big hitters: Dance Wiv Me, Holiday and Bonkers, all of them chart-toppers, and all of them guaranteed to raise the temperature to boiling point and beyond. Bonkers in particular seemed to unleash a special kind of madness – confirming its status as one of the defining hits of 2009, and reminding us that this has truly been the Year of the Rascal.

Dizzee Rascal the Mirror frontpage and that he's the male Lily Allen

Dizzee Rascal revealed he was taken aback when he first saw the Mirror front page headline 'Fizzy Rascal' last week

he thought it was about him!
The legend related to David Cameron flouting a champagne ban during the Conservative Party Conference, but the rapper seemingly thought he had made the headlines.
He reportedly said: “Yeah, ‘Fizzy Rascal’, when I saw that, I thought: ‘What have I done now?’”
Dizzee also likens himself to singer Lily Allen, who he has just announced a joint concert at The O2 Arena with.
He apparently said: “She says some taboo s***. She’s almost like the female version of me.”
The star also said he shared Lily's view on illegal downloading hardly surprising when his recent track Dirtee Cash went to Number 10 in the charts last month through downloads alone.
Dizzee has just shot the video for it in London and the track will get an official single release on November 9.
It could be his third solo Number One after Bonkers and Holiday.
